This is the perfect orange! This sweet and tangy variety from Florida is everything you want…seedless, easy to peel, and bursting with flavor.
Monticello, Florida
While most Florida citrus grows in south Florida, growers found that Satsuma mandarins grew extremely well in the north where temperatures get down to near freezing. Satsuma trees are hardy citrus trees, so this climate is actually perfect for Satsumas! Warm summers keep Satsumas growing and maturing, while cool fall nights slow down the maturation so that the fruit can develop all the sugar needed.
Our partner farm Florida Georgia Citrus is located in Monticello, Florida and is lead by Kim Jones, one of the most dedicated and innovative growers we’ve ever met.
After spending 48 years in the farming industry, Kim and four generations of his family are now running the farm and growing the best Satsumas we’ve ever tasted.
Beginning in late fall, our Satsumas are finally ripened and ready to be picked. All of our Satsumas are harvested to order, and need to be clipped off the trees rather than pulled because of their loose peel. From there, it is washed, packed and on its way to you!
Citrus that makes it way to the grocery store is usually weeks or months old, after having been picked too early. This is great for shelf life, but terrible for flavor. Worse yet, citrus fruits can be artificially colored!
Our Satsumas are carefully grown, never colored or ‘gassed’, and delivered to you within days of harvest for the best flavor possible.

Perfect timing means perfect fruit.
All our fruit is “tree ripened” allowing it to stay on the tree longer giving it richer, sweeter flavor. Most grocery store fruit is picked too early and stored for weeks or even months. Our fruit is picked and delivered directly to you within days of harvest – you’ll taste the difference.
Our Florida Satsuma mandarin harvest begins in November each year. Pre-orders begin in October, and we only harvest what is needed for our orders.
And in November and December we deliver our Satsumas directly to our customers through home-delivery and at our ‘Orange Stops’.
