Ingredients
3 large ripe Oregon pears
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
3 tablespoons old-fashioned oats
1/3 cup chopped Georgia pecans
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
¼ cup Wisconsin raw honey
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375 degrees.
- In a large bowl combine oats, pecans, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and 2 tablespoons butter. Set aside.
- Cut pears in half and shave off a thin slice on the uncut side so pears will sit flat. Use a melon baller or scoop to remove the seeds.
- Melt remaining butter in cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sear pear halves center side down for 3 minutes or until golden brown. Flip pears over.
- Top pear halves with pecan mixture and drizzle with honey
- Bake in oven for 30 minutes, basting every 10 minutes with melted honey from the pan.
- Remove skillet from oven and serve pears. Pour extra honey sauce in pan over the pears. Serve while warm.
