This recipe features our Michigan strawberries from Walker Farms available every spring. This recipe creates approximately one 8-ounce jar.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon Kosher Salt
- 1 pint Strawberries
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
Instructions
- Hull and slice strawberries directly into cooking pot.
- Add water, sugar, kosher salt, and strawberries to a pot and bring to a boil.
- Turn the heat down to a simmer, cook until strawberries begin to break apart, about 10-15 minutes. The longer the cook the thicker the syrup will be.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla and lime juice.
- Strain syrup through a cheese cloth lined mesh strainer.
- Cool and store in refrigerator for up to two weeks.
