Winter News
We’re halfway through our winter season, and we’re getting into some of the best citrus varieties of the year! Our trucks will not be out delivering in January; everything will be harvested-to-order and shipped directly to your home! Here’s what Florida citrus is available for January ordering.

Shiranui mandarins: a Shiranui is a seedless variety of mandarin and they have a super intense flavor. They’re like a sweet tart in citrus form!
Juicy Crunch tangerines: a staff favorite, and probably the sweetest tangerine we’ve ever had!
Honeybell (Minneola tangelo): very juicy with a honey-sweet flavor and unique bell shape.
Ruby Red grapefruit: classic ruby red taste with the quality you expect from Tree-Ripe.
Farm Share Winter box: a CSA style mixed box with the best fruit of the winter season. They have a sampling of each variety and contains roughly 18lbs of fruit. With our Farm Share boxes, you’ll be able to eat seasonally, try more, and still support family farms!

Our Georgia pecans and Jam 3-packs will also be available. Our pre-ordering will be open until January 19th, and we expect to begin shipping orders out on January 27th. If you want to guarantee that you’ll be able to get your citrus, make sure to get your pre-orders in. We may have more available after the 27th – but there’s no guarantee!

News from down on the Farm!
Florida: a dip in temperatures down south is bad news for your Florida vacation, but great news for citrus lovers! The cooler temperatures are great for the fruit since it brings up the sugar levels and results in sweeter fruit. It also helps the fruit to ‘color’, or to get that deeper orange color that we’re looking for.

Georgia: Peach trees need a lot of ‘chill hours’ (hours below 45 degrees) to wake up at the right time with the energy needed to start producing buds. After a few years of low chill-hours, we’re already on track to hit 1,000 hours. (that’s very good news). Each variety of peach has different requirements for ‘chill-hours’ but it’s looking great so far this winter. And that means sweet, juicy peaches next summer! 🍑

Start making stuff!
Winter is the reason why we preserve so much of our beautiful summer fruit! There’s nothing better than being able to make a fresh peach pie or blueberry tart even if there’s snow outside. Take stock of what you have in the freezer and get baking (or making cocktails!). We even made our own maraschino cherries from our Door County cherries; so easy and delicious! If you’re looking for some inspo, check out our Pinterest page or our recipes page. You’ll need to clear out room in your freezer for more fruit this summer, too!

Spring is just waiting to get sprung!
Spring will be here before we know it, and we’ll be bringing back our Meyer Lemons, Heirloom Navel oranges, and Cara Cara oranges for our California spring season. Typically we open orders in February for an early March ship date. Keep an eye out for more details on our spring season, including a return of our California organic fruit!
